Soccer Coins
thingiverse
Every time, I ask myself the same question. How do I construct two rival teams out of all these amateur players who show up? If one chooses selection, there's always someone to blame if it backfires after the game. Drawing the team by random is probably better, but as paper scraps get misplaced over time, I've devised a solution using colored coins instead. Up to three teams can be formed with six players max - this setup suits indoor cage ball just fine. As you begin your project, feel free to choose any material, but for mine, I opt for 3mm birch plywood. Since both sides of the coin templates are already in a single file, my first step is to cut and engrave the front side. Once done, I don't discard the leftover material; instead, it serves as a frame that I secure with one hand before flipping over the coins for the second round of engraving. To add some color to the design, I prefer using a marker or a colored pen specifically designed for wood.
