Soap Slicer
thingiverse
My wife recently purchased soap loaf molds and cutting utensils from Amazon, but we encountered a problem when trying to make consistent straight cuts. The miter boxes sold at Home Depot were not tall enough, so I designed my own cutting guide. The guide features slots for dividers that allow for precise cuts of 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4 and 2 inches. The edge is positioned exactly 2 inches from the blade, ensuring accurate cuts every time. This cutting guide comes in three sizes to accommodate different soap loaf molds and cutting utensils: 1) Guide-Short: This size matches the exact height of my straight blade (2 7/8 in.) and the exact height of the soap loaf mold. It can be used with either a straight or crinkle cutter, making it perfect for loafs that extend above the top. To cut these loafs, simply turn them 90 degrees before cutting. The Guide-Short is designed to accommodate a side cut, measuring 4 inches in width. 2) Guide-Tall: This size can be used with the Crinkle cutter (3 3/4 in high) or another suitable cutting utensil. It allows for easy cutting of high loafs from the top, making it an ideal choice for those who need to make precise cuts. 3) Guide-Pringles: This special guide is designed specifically for cutting soap made from a Pringles can. To use this cutting guide, you will need: 1. A guide of your chosen size 2. A support that matches the selected guide 3. A divider By following these simple steps, you'll be able to make accurate and precise cuts every time.
