Soap Press

I shower every day, even using good old-fashioned bar soap. That's why I stick with it in an era dominated by heavily scented body washes. Men just don't use loofahs; we're not about that kind of thing. Don't try to convince me otherwise - deep down, you know it's true. Now, let's get real for a second. Loofah-using gentlemen out there might want to reevaluate their life choices at this point. I get frustrated when I'm using an 80% full bar of soap and it breaks into useless slivers. It's infuriating, especially since I try to use the slivers anyway because I hate wasting something that still has some life left in it. Unfortunately, those soap slivers always seem to slip from my hands, forcing me to toss them out eventually. It's a waste, plain and simple. But hey, sometimes under the right conditions, these slivers can magically adhere to each other again. So, what if we had a device that could apply consistent pressure to soap slivers, making them reusable? That's exactly what I've come up with. Time and pressure can turn coal into diamonds; time and pressure can reshape soap. Here's how my invention works: 1. Place the cap on one end of the body. 2. Add moistened soap chips to the other end. Water improves ductility, making it easier to shape the soap. 3. Insert the plunger into the body. 4. Compress the mold end to end using a clamp or vise. It might take a few compressions and removal cycles to get the new bar just right. You want to remove any air pockets for good adhesion between the soap slivers. 5. Let it sit overnight. Yes, really let it sit. 6. Remove the cap from the body. 7. Use the plunger to extract the newly formed bar of soap. If you need a clean edge, use a knife to cut the soap free from the plunger. 8. Allow the new soap bar to dry for a day or so before using. This design is meant to produce bars that are 1 inch x 2 inches x 2 inches in size (25mm x 50mm x 50mm). It's pretty small, like hotel bar soap. But it was designed to use up the remaining soap shards from just a couple of bars and create a usable bar for hand washing at the sink. Scale it up to your liking!
