Warning Always keep a bag or large plastic tray nearby to contain your molds in case they break, fail, or leak. A common soapmaking mistake is using underpowered lye which leads to slow or incomplete soapification. This results in leakage from the molds and creates a massive and potentially hazardous mess. This is a large box-style soap mold designed for pouring a significant amount of soap, allowing it to set, then cutting the large block into smaller bars. The SketchUp file can be found under Thing Files. Using cellophane to wrap each part, followed by assembling with M6 x 100mm bolts (at least four bolts per box) ensures a sturdy fit with minimal leakage. It's recommended to keep the box on a plastic bag or other easily washable or disposable cover anyway just for added safety. Making these molds from wood is easy but we reside in the city center, finding wood for projects is challenging, and we don't have an appropriate location to cut/drill. 3D printing proved to be the ideal process, enabling us to create the molds exactly as desired.
