I'm going to design and craft a custom soap dish from scratch. Wife: "Why would you go through the trouble when you can just head down to the 99-cent store and pick one up?" Me: "Because I won't have to set foot outside my front door." 5 hours later... Wife: "I really appreciate that beautiful soap dish you created!" Me: "Thanks, I'm glad you like it!" Designed in Cinema 4D with precision modeling techniques. C4D file included. I brought this unique design to life using Cura on my Qidi X-One 2 3D printer in vibrant white Hatchbox PLA at a microscopic .03mm layer thickness with strategically placed supports for the bottom. Although the bottom didn't turn out perfectly and I encountered some stringy overhangs around the holes, a few quick passes with an Exacto blade and some gentle sanding with 80 grit paper smoothed everything out beautifully. Considering this experience, I'm not sure if I'll print another one like it, but if I do, I might opt for a higher density of supports next time – perhaps 50% would be the way to go!
