Soap Dish

Soap Dish

I really enjoyed masa4dc's design of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:481978, so I decided to adapt it as a soap dish for my kitchen counter. To make this conversion, I imported the model into MeshMixer and increased its size to accommodate my needs. I also closed up the holes at the bottom, creating a small tray that can catch any drips of soap and prevent them from spreading across the counter. To bring my creation to life, I chose to print with glow-in-the-dark PLA filament, which gives it an awesome luminescent quality. Here are my print settings: I used my MakerBot Replicator Mini printer for this project. * Printer: MakerBot Replicator Mini * Rafts: Yes * Supports: Not necessary * Resolution: .2 One challenge I faced with this design was the significant overhang at its top. To solve this problem, I simply cut off 2.2mm from the top and printed it separately using my 3D printer. Once both parts were complete, I used a gap filling medium like Cyanoacrylate glue to join them together seamlessly. To cater to users who may want alternative versions of this model, I have provided two separate models in this listing - one with the modifications mentioned above and another without any changes for reference purposes.
