Soap Dish

pinshape

Shower soap dish designed to clip onto the riser rail of the shower. Originally, this dish was specifically designed for the dimensions of my shower, which has a cylindrical riser rail 21.9mm in diameter. To scale the dish securely onto your own shower rail, measure its diameter in mm and divide by 21.9, then use the answer as the print scale factor. For example, if your shower rail is 25mm in diameter, divide by 21.9 to get a scale factor of 1.14 for printing. As you can see from the picture, this soap dish is relatively small, so keep that in mind when scaling it down further. It's recommended not to use PLA for this design due to the hook's tendency to break after a short time, possibly due to environmental factors affecting the biodegradable plastic. My ABS soap dish has stood the test of time without any issues. Updates are available: 31.01.16 - A new version, the soap dish 02, features a thicker and more robust hook as well as a rounded bottom edge, making it even stronger than before. It still shouldn't require support structures during printing but may benefit from some light sanding to smooth out any rough edges. 20.02.16 - The previous update had a smaller diameter, which made the scaling formula unusable. This issue has been resolved, and the new version now has the same diameter grasp as the original design, ensuring a secure fit onto your shower rail.
