Snug Can Lid
thingiverse
I designed this lid with a tapered opening and a ring to make it seal perfectly every time. Version 2 is engineered for speed, boasting an ultra-thin design that allows for rapid printing while using the absolute minimum amount of filament required. Version 2 features a 2mm fillet added to the inside edge of the lid for a seamless bond between the wall and top surface. This innovative addition ensures a rock-solid connection that will withstand even the toughest conditions. Version 3 takes it up another notch, with a thicker and stronger design that will last longer than its predecessors. However, this increased durability comes at a cost - it takes significantly longer to print and requires more filament than Version 2. Print Settings: Printer: PRUSA i3 Rafts: No rafts are used in this printing process. Supports: No supports are necessary for this design. Resolution: A high resolution of 0.2 is employed to ensure precise details. Infill: The infill percentage is set at a moderate 10% to balance print speed with structural integrity. Notes: This lid is specifically designed for use with 14oz cans (75mm) that have been opened by a can opener, which cuts off the top lid and brim. However, it's unclear whether it would work effectively with cans that split the brim or leave it intact. The design was printed in PLA.
