I wanted to design a wolfstock style delta-bot using Makerslide linear slides, with the belt running through the inside of the Makerslide for a cleaner look. This project is still a work in progress as I finalize the design and build the printer. You can follow my progress by visiting my blog at: http://andy-projects.blogspot.com/2013/12/delta-bot-build.html http://andy-projects.blogspot.com/2014/01/delta-bot-build-part-2-belt-tensioners.html http://andy-projects.blogspot.com/2014/01/delta-bot-build-part-3-effector-rods.html http://andy-projects.blogspot.com/2014/04/delta-bot-build-cooling-fan-magnetic.html As of January 1, 2014, I have made the following updates to my project: * I added a belt clip and a bolt to the back of the Makerslide carriage. * I added a belt tensioner to the idler bracket. * I added a tensioner arm. By January 15, 2014, I had also added the following components: * A carriage mount for rod ends * A platform with mounting holes for various attachments * A rod sleeve for reinforcing carbon rods On January 18, 2014, I made updates to the platform and rod carriage mount to improve their fit with Traxxas rod ends. Two days later, on January 19, 2014, I made additional updates to the platform and rod carriage mounts to allow better clamping of Traxxas rod ends, including varying center widths. On March 19, 2014, I added a shroud for a 40mm fan and a bowden tube mount for a Budaschnozzle. I also installed a 5mm spacer and added a platform for magnetic bearings, as well as a carriage mount. On April 3, 2014, I installed M5 threaded rod end caps on my magnetic bearings. As of September 8, 2014, I had completed the following updates: * Adding upper and lower braces to stiffen the structure. The components required for this project are: **Makerslide Components** - Three 2040-size Makerslide units, each measuring 895mm in length (using two pieces cut from 1800mm sections of Makerslide) - Three carriage plates (25200-01) from inventables.com - Six dual bearing v-wheels (like 25203-02) from inventables.com - Three eccentric spacers (25195-02) from inventables.com - Three smooth idler wheel kits (25197-02) from inventables.com **Motion Control** - Three 16T GT2 pulleys - Three NEMA 17 steppers - Three 198cm-long GT2 belts (each) **Aluminum Extrusions** - Three 1-square 8020 units, each measuring 275mm in length (upper assembly) - Six 1-square 8020 units, each measuring 250mm in length (lower assembly) **Fasteners** - Thirty M5x25mm SHCS (idler wheel mounts) - Twenty M5 nuts (idler wheel mounts) - Forty-eight M5x20mm SHCS (idler tensioner screws) - Forty-eight M5 nuts (idler tensioner nuts) - One hundred and twenty M5x10mm SHCS - One hundred and twenty M5 T-slot nuts - Twenty-four M5 x 20mm SHCS for mounting Makerslide - Twenty-four M3 x 12mm SHCS (stepper mounts) - Forty-eight M3 washers (stepper mounts) - Optional end screws for 8020 to corners using sixty-six M6x20mm SHCS. **Connector Rods** - Carbon rods with an OD of 8.5mm and ID of 7.25mm - Traxxas rod ends, traditionally used in the build
