Snowplow for 3dsets Landy 4x4 with height adjust
prusaprinters

This print is a continuation of my design from last year. The actual plow is reusable from one to the other, I just fixed a minor issue where it was accidentally slightly angled up on the right side and added the height adjustable reinforced mount, so if you want to upgrade just replace the Servoguard and Manifold.

The mechanism still has the plow mounted on two screws which it can pivot up and down around and it sits on the head of a third screw which can be easily adjusted from the bottom of the car (see gif in gallery, if it works). This way it can still freely raise up on its own if your driveway has a slope on it like ours.

The design consists of 4 parts. First you have to replace the Servo guard.stl piece with a redesigned one with attachment points for the plow and the height adjust set screw. The plow itself consists of the to halves and the manifold mounting bracket. For the assembly you will need 10 M3x10mm screws to assemble the plow and bracket as well as 2 M3x20mm screws to mount it to the bumper and a M3x20-ish screw for the height adjust, depending on the ride height of your truck. The plow can be easily detached with just these three screws and I personally leave the modified bumper on the truck all the time (see picture), even tho it does look a bit weirder than the stock one.

The result is a 30cm wide plow designed for countries like the Czech Republic where we drive on the right side of the road and therefore the snow is also plowed towards the right. If you have flipped the layout of your Landy's interior feel free to mirror these parts as well, but remember you have to flip the manifold as well as the plow halves since it isn't symmetric.

This is of course not the most practical thing in the world, but it does legitimately work for clearing light snow off of our paved driveway, but of course the limit of how much it can clear is fully dependent on the traction of the tires on the truck so I may explore making a track kit for the Landy later this winter.

I haven't actually had the opportunity to test this revision of the design in real snow just yet, but it is only a cleaner way of limiting the movement of the plow, which I already did last year with piece of wire.

If you actually print this is out please let me know! I saw one of the original snowplows built by a random guy on the 3dsets Facebook group and it was one of the proudest moments of my life.

Print instructions

Print the manifold upside down from it's intended orientation, the plow halves on the flange between them and the servo guard piece also upside down, it does require supports anyway, but this way the ugly surface is hidden by the main bar of the bumper.
