I tried this challenge as a test, wondering if it would really work for my students, and the program exceeded my expectations. It expertly bridges the gap between Scratch and CAD. I took a design that my five-year-old daughter and I had created from a sketch she drew, and measured it carefully. Two weeks ago we drew it in CAD, and this week I showed her how I remixed it by writing the code to bring it to life. The designs are vastly different, yet they originated from the same sketch. It would be incredibly valuable for students to draw out their designs both ways to deepen their understanding of design, patterns, and coding principles. I did have to export an OpenScad file and render it using that program to achieve better slicing results. I included that file with modifications for higher-resolution cylinders and spheres. It was a thrill to learn these new design tricks, which I can now share with my students.
