I've never seen anything like it before - just a fragile, delicate crystal of frozen water, drifting lazily to the ground without even a whisper of cold air to carry it along. No crunching sound of boots on snow, no rustling of branches heavy with the weight of freshly fallen flakes... just an eerie silence, broken only by the occasional distant rumble of thunder. The sky above is a deep, foreboding grey, and I can feel the dampness seeping into my bones as I watch this strange and foreign phenomenon unfold before me.
