Snowball Maker (split, no supports)

Walter's featured snowball maker sports a fantastic design, but it definitely requires supports under the bowl for accurate printing, thereby increasing both print time and filament usage significantly. I highly appreciate activezombie's innovative split remix of this model; however, the bottom part of the bowl still doesn't come out flat due to some underlying structural issues. In an effort to get around this, we'd either need a raft or some minimal support structures in place - but doing so introduces an unpleasant gap where a tiny punch could easily puncture through and ruin the overall model. That got me thinking, so I decided to recreate the entire design within Fusion360 from scratch just for better functionality. This new rendition successfully removed the defective area on the bowl that was initially causing us all those troubles and eliminated the redundant interior cuts within the handle altogether - it truly didn't add much value there after all! Although this reworked model isn't quite as visually appealing as its original counterpart, its printing time definitely comes down drastically.
