I spent yesterday immersed in YouTube, where I attempted to watch a gameplay of a game that has been out of reach for me, but what caught my eye was Prey for the Gods, a title that echoes some of the other classics like The Shadow of the Colossus. It centers around an unknown protagonist equipped with cutting-edge tech and powerful weaponry, all designed to take down hulking giant fantasy creatures in spectacular fashion. The player expertly dispatched five such behemoths, leaving me on the edge of my seat as I eagerly anticipated the next moment in this visually stunning narrative. However, my enthusiasm was short-lived as a message suddenly flashed onto the screen - "This game is an early access release; thank you for playing" - coupled with a reminder that only half the experience was currently available. My search for gameplay videos of the full Prey for the Gods proved fruitless, considering its initial launch in 2017 has seen little progression towards completion. With this reality check, I moved on to wrap up my last remaining quest in Nox before devoting myself fully to the hilariously disappointing system found within Shaolin Monks. Although that one did leave me with many lost hours and some valuable lessons learned about persistence - albeit with the frustrating consequence of giving in time after time. My true focus soon became captivated by the visual aspects of my current setup, driving me to fire up YouTube in search for inspiring content. My discovery included a mesmerizing Blender rigging video which I'm fascinated to incorporate into upcoming holiday-themed animations as it boasts of rich and fascinating ideas to develop, thanks to their creativity. In preparation, my creative engine went on full-throttle when browsing videos featuring the most versatile 3D creation tool - Max software - I got stuck into making snowflakes and the collection now grows bigger and with better precision which gives a fresh spark. Albeit only four at the start of development, every element crafted within these animations took much more effort and attention than simply idly wasting away watching YouTube. When considering how engaging working on such creations is in contrast to mindless indulgence like passive gaming, vapid connections or futile time-sucking browsing of social media outlets. I'd rather work harder, push through those challenges to end with satisfaction.
