Snoot for Subtronic Pro160 underwater flash

A colleague at work who's an avid sports diver needed my help printing a special adapter for his underwater camera's flash, known as a snoot. It fits perfectly on his Subtronic Pro160 flash and does a fantastic job of focusing the light onto the object. He's used it successfully in both fresh- and saltwater environments at depths of up to 25 meters, resulting in stunning photographs. The adapter is designed to be printed in three separate parts: the body, lid, and focus pipe. We glued the lid and pipe together using ABS glue or a mixture of black ABS dissolved in acetone. This approach made it easier for us to print the adapter. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 - 0.4 mm Infill: +20% Notes: Print the snoot in black ABS to maintain the inside's darkness. Apply a brim to the body for improved adhesion, if necessary. The geometry is simple, so we can choose our desired resolution based on how quickly and smoothly we want it to print. Post-Printing: Assembly Instructions: Glue the lid and light tube together. On most printers, the first layer will be slightly compressed, so lightly sand the edge of the lid's inner hole with fine-grit sandpaper to ensure a smooth fit. Be careful not to damage any layers. Apply ABS glue or black ABS dissolved in acetone to the recessed surface on the inside of the lid and the tube's brim using a small brush. Press together for a few minutes and let it set for several hours. Also, apply some glue/acetone around the seams for added adhesion. Once the lid has cured, screw it onto the snoot body. Thread an elastic cord through the holes at the end of the snoot to enable easy removal and attachment from the flash when underwater.
