Snoopy, The Rivervane

This is my Snoopy, he is a 'Rivervane' (it is not a word)... He's a (will be) boat mooring - he is a mock weather vane that will face against the tide (or greater winds)... The doghouse is angled for least resistance. The base (1/4" alum) is made to fill sand/cement as needed for buoyancy... At low tide he'll be flat grounded. The base is made for fore and aft shackling with a connector line & shackle so it will turn freely with the tide. Snoopy is 5 layers of 1/8" aluminum, the middle layer is a linkage connected to the 'steering wheel' which has a shaft that is sprung so that as he hits waves or wakes makes his hands pivot and his tail wag... It was a goofy little fun project for a coworker and friend Suzy, also please note that the overweight bald welder is not me (thank you George)... The doghouse has a lasered lattice work to mock the shingles after paint... He does have a scarf attached to 3/16" welding wire wrapped through his neck and a parachute to blow up as the wind picks up :-PI may add Woodstock as a floater on a piece of wireNo rocket science, but a goofy little fun project... I hope you likeAlso I had to make a little stainless mockup... so cool to have all the toys!as always and still all these years later, sorry for all the pics, but I document as I go... when non NDA'd
