Snille Ikea Chair Height Adjustor
thingiverse
I've had one of the chairs that I keep around the office suddenly give way under someone's weight recently. Upon investigation, I discovered that a critical component responsible for height adjustment had fractured in two parts. My initial plan was to use epoxy to reattach this broken piece but unfortunately, that attempt failed. As an alternative solution, I chose to create a digital model of the part using solid works and then printed a replacement part with 3D printing technology. The end results have turned out very well, especially when it comes to the inner threads which took some experimentation to perfect - however they are now working perfectly, and the chair functions smoothly for adults weighing normally for men but I'll just have you take my dogs word that this holds up heavier weight in general as far as a more heavy-duty test is concerned.
