This print was made so the old S.N.E.S. games could be stored in a neat manner in a drawer (or on display if applicable) rather than sitting in a Rubbermaid tub in the closet until the end of time... The design went through a total of 2 versions. This Thing inherited lessens learned from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4861538. Although there was some designs that could be found here on thingiverse, none really fit what we were looking for. If you want to get technical they could be considered "inspiration" rather than remixed, since we made this design from scratch. Measurements of cartridges were made with a caliper and design size was determined by maximum size capabilities of the printer. The rest was designer imagination. After print, the containers were positioned on a 45 degree rotation so that the text surface was leveled. Acrylic paint was attempted but only successful if no water was added to the brush as bleeding between the print layers was severe. When acrylic paint dried, there was unsightly bubble or tunneling shapes. After some research, resin was mixed with a few drops of acrylic paint and filled into the engraved text. There was a minimal amount of visible resin seeping between the layers so some got a clear coat first (to seal the layers microscopic layers) but became unnecessary on further versions. Printer settings were screen snipped for your pleasure and additionally filled in below.
