Clear Point near Pebbly Beach marks the base of the early Permian Snapper Point Formation. The Pebbley Beach Formation lies beneath it, cropping out to the south from this point as seen in the initial view. The Snapper Point Formation is a shallow marine deposit located on the inner shelf, composed primarily of sandstones and mudstones. At Clear Point, an outcrop features a layer of coarse sandstone containing abundant Eurydesma hobartense fossils that are still mostly conjoined but oriented horizontally (in a near-life position). Large wave ripples at a metre scale are also visible in this model.
