Snapmaker J1 extended spool holder
thingiverse
The original spool holders on the snapmaker J1 are a little bit too short to handle spools with a little bit more substance. This spool holder fixes that. It is a direct replacement of the original spool holders. Print the spool holder and replace the original. The uploaded .stl is able to handle spools 120mm wide, but you can use the customizer to get a holder for whathever spool size you want: Measure your widest spool, add a suitable margin and run the customizer. This holder is a little bit easier to insert and remove compared to the original, it also a little bit thicker at places with high forces in order to take a heavier spool without breaking. It should print nicely without any supports. You need to print this using a fairly thick shell, I used 4mm but that could possibly be overdoing it. The heavier spools you want to put there the thicker walls is needed, for really heavy spools might the scad file be edited to add more thickness at the parts inside the enclosure.
