This is a holder for a makerbot endstop switch, specifically designed to reside on the 3d printing module. The top of the holder securely houses a makerbot endstop switch, which can be easily connected to a raspberry pi running octoprint via GPIO Pins. The precise distance between the endstop and the top of the 3d printing module is approximately 40mm, allowing ample time for the pause command to be sent before the filament begins to feed in. For added convenience, the attachment is intentionally not bolted down, making it quick and easy to switch out filament as needed. To create a protective cover for the endstop sensor, simply print the provided design from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2912087 With the "Filament Sensor Reloaded" plugin installed in Octoprint, you can configure the endstop sensor to trigger a pause command in octoprint whenever it detects an open or closed switch position. This feature is particularly useful when filament is running low and may become stuck in the extruder if left unattended.
