Snapmaker 2.0 A350 Glass Clips

05/06/2021 UPDATE - Make sure you install the 4mm hex bolt as you may need to tighten up - the hole in the clip expands as it warms
Problem

I noticed when printing big objects on A350 it can be a slight gamble, ive noticed bottom of objects being uneven and even print head destroying tops of talls objects. There needed to be something which was easily removable as an option. The bracket sides needed to fit past the upright z axis

Solution

I designed these clips to hold glass in place on an A350 heat plate. Nothing really existed for this printer and what did wasnt really upto my expectations to be honest. The clips can be pushed on (tightish fit) or even screwed on from below with the 4mm holes (also exists are protection pads to prevent screw from damaging underside of plate).

Printing the clips

I used 100% infill for strength, i also used auto supports as it has empty spaces within and a raft to prevent detaching from heat plate. Personally i used PLA+ for good end results. Nothing extra used here

Buying glass to fit

UK Buyers - I used www.ooznest.co.uk, you need a piece of 3mm Borosilicate glass of size of 363x333, they only sell 400x400 but will cut if for you at request. At the time of my purchase the total cost including delivery was £68.92

US Buyers - TBC

Guidance

Place the glass directly onto heat plate, and then the original black print sheet on top of that, do your alignment / auto levelling as per normal procedure. Following this you can then swap them around (optional), putting glass on top of the original black print sheet. *** You do this at your own risk, not levelling correctly could cause scraping of glass ***

Also, do no fit the bottom left bracket whilst aligning / auto levelling or at beginning of print, it can be refitted when head has moved to centre and printing has begun. Suggest only screwing the other 3 clips in place (top left, top right, bottom right), this is optional ofcourse, they could remain unscrewed if you think its tight enough. Mine are personally non-screwed. - UPDATED 09/11/21 Screws are now used as expansion of plastic
