Snap together Spool Holder - No extra hardware required!
thingiverse
I was seeking a versatile 3D-printed spool holder that I could use without hassle, with sturdy stability and quick swap-out of Filament rolls. Unable to locate one ready-made, I took the initiative to create my own design. Avoiding the need for screws, nails, or bearings in the original concept led me to introduce innovative modifications. It required four iterations before I fine-tuned it perfectly. Today, swapping out different rolls of filament onto my custom spool holder is as simple as dropping them into place. Even storage becomes effortless by storing extra spools with attached connectors alongside the filament rolls. Key Spindle Dimensions: The major spindle stands at 50mm tall The smaller spindle measures 30mm in height Enhanced Smaller Spindle Options: I offer a new 30mm spindle variant with thicker walls Instructions to Construct Your Own Custom Holder: To begin, print two sides of the spool holder design. Four edge connectors are also necessary. In addition, print two support components that require separate supports for optimal overhang. Inserting the pre-fabricated edge connectors into the top and bottom edges of the spool follows a straightforward procedure illustrated in our images. For secure alignment, insert the support components onto the sides of your spool (as shown in the pictures). Carefully position the completed spool holder within its frame by pushing it gently forward until all pieces are snugly fitted in place.
