Create a compact light attachment by fitting a battery-operated LED light into your existing lamp head. To install it, you may need to use a Dremel tool for extracting plastic to accommodate the switch and mount the light. Attach the components using a Micromini SPDT switch (275-0635) from Radio Shack, 16-gauge wire, a round PCB kit (276-004), and sheet metal sourced from Home Depot or Radio Shack. Finally, use LEDs of your choice, which can be obtained from an electronics store or online. Button batteries with a voltage of 1.5V are recommended for powering the light.
