Snap-Struder (EXPERIMENTAL)

17/12/16 When Evantim asked about a Bowden option, it hit me! That's an unintended feature already built-in. Simply mount the base unit and fan without tube casings, leaving the top of the E3D open for a standard Bowden coupler. WIP!! EXPERIMENTAL Introducing the new Snap-Struder! Featuring integrated air cooling and a quick, easy swap-in system, this new extruder design may be just what you're looking for! Still in the experimental phase, I'll publish the files on Thingiverse soon. Print Stuff: www.3dhubs.com/edinburgh/hubs/sam Thingiverse: www.thingiverse.com/AcrimoniousMirth/about Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Daedalus Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 40% Notes: As with all mechanical parts, I printed these at 40% infill with 1.5mm walls, tops, and bottoms. The tube casings are a bit of a hassle to print, and you WILL need support (emotionally, perhaps). Post-Printing I spent some time sanding and scraping parts to get a nice, tight fit. You'll want to ensure the PTFE slots in nicely and that your screw holes for mounting the motor have clearance. I left them tight but perhaps too tight. Assembly and Testing
