Snap-on Soup Can Lid
thingiverse
My wife asked for a cap that snaps onto a can's top to keep contents fresh while refrigerated. She used plastic wrap, but we both felt it was wasteful since only a few uses come out of it. A reusable lid would be more environmentally friendly over time. I searched Thingiverse and found designs sitting on cans, but one that snaps on and holds would be better. So, I came up with this design. It has a good positive snap when putting the lid on, and it stays in place even if accidentally tipped over. Notes: 1. This is designed for 3-inch (75mm) steel cans. Can sizes vary by manufacturer, so scaling up or down might be necessary for a perfect fit. 2. I used PETG. Whatever filament you use, it should have some flexibility to it. PLA would likely crack easily due to its brittleness. 3. The version 2 file has more slots in the rim of the lid. This is useful if you experience cracking with rigid filaments.
