Snap-on Dial Indicator Holder for Replicator 2
thingiverse
Introducing an innovative Dial Indicator Holder that sets itself apart from others! After experimenting with other holders, this one securely clips onto your extruder for precise positioning using ReplicatorG's jog controls. The customizable STL files ensure a perfect fit for various indicators, while the new script automates the process without needing ReplicatorG. Version 2 is compatible with the Replicator 2 Extruder Upgrade. Designed using Shark FX software, it works seamlessly with Makerware, ReplicatorG, and skeinforge. Donations appreciated! To print, use a 200 micron profile in ReplicatorG (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39050), set infill to 30%, layer height at 0.2mm, and two shells. Insert the dial indicator into the mounting hole - it should poke out about 2mm. For first-time levelling, follow your usual procedure with a 0.1 mm feeler gauge or support card. Then, use the interactive build platform levelling aid (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39430) to ensure accurate nozzle offset. For automatic levelling, download the x3g script and install it on your printer's SD card. Follow the prompts, but do not clip on the holder before running the script. Keep this script on your SD card for future use. Manual levelling can be done in ReplicatorG by accessing the Control Panel, setting Jog Mode to 20mm, and following the steps outlined above. Remember to unclip the dial indicator holder after each procedure to avoid crashes! This innovative method offers quick and accurate leveling for your Replicator 2 build platform.
