Snap-on binocular to tripod adapter (for Bushnell 12x25)

<p>This thing is a quick-release (or snap-on) adapter to mount a Bushnell 12x25 foldable binocular to a standard quarter inch tripod mount.</p> <p>For a binocular with a 12x magnification it makes a huge difference to prevent it from shaking by putting it on a small tripod even just a short selfie stick that you push into your shoulder or against a tree. Any kind of stabilization is a lot better than just holding a small binocular in your hands.</p> <p>For a carry-on device like this little foldable binocular, which you typically have on your belt when you go hiking, I think it is important for a mount adapter to be very quickly attached and detached. Otherwise you will simply not use it. That is why I have made this as snap-on.</p> <p>I propose to clue a little piece of rubber in the holding slot of the adapter on the flat (rear) side of the binocular, to prevent it from sliding right and left. I have left 0.5-1mm of margin in the design for the thickness of such a piece of rubber. That avoids the need for any modification on the binocular, it can be used as-is.</p> <p>Like with every print, this is provided as is. If you drop your binocular or damage it any other way, that is purely your own responsibility.</p> <p>Have fun with with part, I hope it is useful.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>Print the two pieces separately as shown in the .3mf file and done in the published gcode. I have used a partial modifier in Prusaslicer to have 100% around the thread in the mounting nut. The rest of the print is with 25% infill.</p> <p>Glue the completely flat side of mounting nut to the bottom of the mount. The two-piece design allows the mount to printed on the side and the nut in a flat orientation for optimal quality of the printed quarter inch thread. The hole in the mount will help you to align the two parts nicely.</p> <p>I recommend to print this in PETG because it is more flexible. Make sure to use a glue that is proven for the material you use, to prevent it from breaking off and you binocular falling down.</p>
