Snap-off anti warping pads REVISED
thingiverse
Updated to include 4 new pads that are just as effective. They take less time to print, which is a big plus. Here's what I came up with - some pads designed specifically for reducing warping. They're made to snap off after printing. Note that the pad is designed to fit on a square corner, where most warping occurs. Simply place the pad at your part's corners, hit print and then snap them off. A little sanding will tidy things up afterwards. I've found these pads work exceptionally well, as you can see from my before and after photos. Comments are welcome. EUREKA MOMENT! It's about time - finally successful ABS prints without warping! I've been trying all the popular methods for printing ABS without warping, including ABS acetone juice, blue tape on glass, hairspray (two different kinds), and anti-warping corner pads like these. But it wasn't until now that I achieved success with: A bed temperature of 110 degrees throughout the print. Two good coats of TRESemmé Tres Two #5 "freeze hold" HAIRSPRAY applied to a hot bed are key. Make sure your first layer is firmly pressed into the bed. An extruder temperature of 235C for the first layer and 230C for the rest. The main reason for this success seems to be the type of hairspray used.
