Snap-locking Sphere Container
thingiverse
After failing at creating a snapping sphere initially, I stumbled upon a discovery when I inserted a ball inside two sphere halves. To my surprise, the spheres didn't hold together, but both snapped to the slightly smaller central ball. I revisited the original symmetric Demi-Sphere design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3068) and incorporated an inner sphere (without the challenging top and bottom tips) to connect the two demi-sphere halves. The result? A flawless snap! To print, you'll need 2 x metaball4_shell.stl files and 1 x metaball4_inner.stl file. There's also a slitted version of the inner part, but I can't decide which one looks better.
