I purchased a bag of these outlet sockets on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2YJfuv6. They were somewhat tricky to install. The panel needs to be fairly thin (1.5mm) where the locking clips swing out, or they won't lock properly. I made them as thick as possible for added strength, and it requires a slight amount of prying with a small screwdriver to deploy the locking tabs. See the picture with the orange screwdriver. Once that's done, the socket fits tightly against the panel. Only the area where the locking tabs engage needs to be thin; the rest of the panel can be whatever suits your needs best. I made the rest of the panel 4mm thick. I'm including the STL file and the Fusion 360 file for you to modify and tweak to suit your own needs. You're welcome to make any necessary changes. I have several projects that will require outlets, and now that I have this template, it's easy enough to paste it into other drawings. These outlet sockets are a snug fit, but no sanding was required. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
