Snap fit joint/connector
thingiverse
I took up my daughter's request to print a chair for her and found an ideal design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:218782. To achieve this, I designed a snap fit joint for the legs and posts. The joint was interesting enough that I thought others might want to experiment with it too. If I continue using this technique or if there's demand, I may refine the OpenSCAD code into an easy-to-use library. My daughter adored her chair but soon outgrew it; now she uses it for her stuffed animals. For printing, I used Makerware with medium quality settings (0.2 mm layer height, 10% infill) on a Replicator 2 with PLA material.
