Snap Case for DIY Tube Amp Kit
thingiverse
This is a DIY project case for an inexpensive [DIY tube amplifier soldering kit](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Fever-6J1-tube-preamp-amplifier-board-Pre-amp-tube-amp-6J1-valve-preamp-bile-buffer-diy/32590874810.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.6dab4c4dIxM1JQ) that comes as a bare PCB.\r\n\r\nI connected the amp between a Bose 2.1 speaker and an older record player, and it was fun to set up. The sound quality is decent, but I had to use a ground loop isolator to get rid of some hum. For the price, it's not going to impress any audiophiles.\r\n\r\nI printed the case in "clear" PETG and experimented until I got it to look semi-translucent. My goal was to see the components inside when I turned on the lights, but unfortunately, you can mostly only see the LEDs shining through. From Slic3r PE, I adjusted the infill angle so that it matches the edges of the case (it used to be at a 45-degree tilt by default), which helped make it even more transparent.\r\n\r\nI uploaded the Fusion 360 file for anyone who wants to try and improve on my design - feel free to remix it if you're up to the challenge.
