Snap-build Cellular Structure

Snap-build Cellular Structure

cults3d

This 3D lattice structure is comprised of two halves of a single interlocking snap-together cellular component. By combining numerous reusable components, large structures can be created using minimal plastic. The design draws inspiration from the work of researchers Kenneth Cheung and Neil Gershenfeld at MIT, although this version deviates in its use of frame components that stack orthogonally on only two planes. Despite its simplified nature, the design assembles quickly like LEGO while remaining strong enough to support large self-supporting structures. The basic design of individual pieces offers ample opportunities for augmentation and modification, allowing users to create unique wall and terminal pieces with ease.
