Snap Assembly Tarp Grommet
thingiverse
Snap Assembly Tarp Grommet... The concept revolves around delivering a seamless snap-in grommet solution. To ensure smooth edges, chamfers have been incorporated into the design, making it easier for the tarp to fit snugly at the periphery of the flanges. The user will need to carefully cut or punch a hole in the tarp to accommodate this grommet. Although variables have not been extensively tested, quality control testing should be conducted if size adjustments are necessary; however, the design is expected to be relatively accurate. In the accompanying photograph, I demonstrate the enhanced strength of picture postcards when a rope is threaded through them. The mirror shot showcases the backside of the assembly. A snug snap fit is achieved, requiring either strong manual force or pliers to complete the installation process. With a 1 mm flange separation as designed in the .stl file, it should be possible to implement a double layer of inexpensive tarps.
