Snake Cube Puzzle, Printed Fully Assembled and Ready to Solve
cults3d
First, you solve it; then, you create it. The first photo shows the snake cube as it comes off the 3D printer, fully assembled and ready to solve. Fold the printed version into its final form, no strings, wires, motors, screws, glue or cranks required, just determination. However, as the photos show, it can indeed be folded into a compact cube. This snake cube puzzle prints entirely assembled and ready for immediate solving. To heighten the challenge, I paused the printer at 10mm and switched from white to black filament halfway through printing. I discovered this video http://woodgears.ca/puzzles/snake_cube.html and this design http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:10486, but both utilized string to hold the cubes together. I was seeking to build a fully assembled, ready-to-solve snake cube puzzle, and, well, here it is. I hope you create and solve it. Designed using Sketchup 8 and printed in PLA on a Makerbot Replicator 2 using Makerware 2.3.3.42.
