The original desk toy featured identical joints that alternated axis rotation, creating intriguing shapes and patterns. I replicated this toy by modifying the joints of a robot tool kit. Version 1 involved rotating pieces 90 degrees but shortening holes, which were compensated with optional plugs. Version 3 was more tweaked, while Version 4 proved successful. To recreate it, print DeskToyV4-4Plate.stl thrice in different colors or use a multiplier, assembling the pieces alternately and securing them with glue if needed. Connect the start to the end, and enjoy playing with your new desk toy!
