3-D Snailshell Curve Made by Jonathan Tarr, 3/13/2016 Made for George Mason University Math 493 - Mathematics Through 3-D Printing This is a 3-D plot of a snailshell curve with the following variables: aa = 0.6; bb = 2; cc = 0.1; dd = 6; ee = 2 This print takes 3 hours 15 minutes on a makerbot 2X printer (only using the right side extruder, but it's designed so that both could be used in theory) with a raft and supports. The dimensions in mm are ~102 x ~71 x ~59. Warning: If you re-size it, you MUST re-lay it onto the build plate. This object is a snailshell curve with parametrization of curves that was designed and made using Mathematica and the following website for reference:http://virtualmathmuseum.org/Surface/snailshell/snailshell.html My apologies to everyone who has already downloaded this project for not posting it earlier, I was in a rush at the time. The STL file is different and those who downloaded it will notice it's much smaller. I also cannot figure out how to display Thingiverse. I printed it but forgot to upload a picture of the finished project, It came out very well, but the inside will be filled with support as it's hollow. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 10%
