SNAIL for IKEA Bed Storage Box

Several years back we scored a bed storage box from IKEA. We made this area underneath your bed into a clever spot for storing with it. Although it has a substantial lid on top, there is no locking mechanism to keep the lid in place. They called this product DILLING at that time. Later, someone figured out that there's a genuine need for something to hold the lid firmly in position. Then they altered the design and added tiny locking notches on opposite sides of the lid. Of course its name had been modified after this addition. Now it is known as GIMSE in IKEA product catalogs. The SNAIL thing here is meant for use with old DILLING units. I used six of them to secure the lid firmly because I shove a lot of stuff into these containers. It might be sufficient to employ four or even two of these Snails depending on what's inside. Installing these is also quite simple. Just push its opening to the (box + lid) edge, and turn it upward. It rotates to the top of the edge and locks the lid. I again used PETG to print them. I reckon PLA will do the job just as well. Happy printing!
