Snails and slugs are easily deterred by an uncomplicated fence, its surface too smooth to slip over, angled outwards to block the direct path to food, with jagged spikes at the top as a final barrier. The wall itself is a lightweight mesh, allowing sunlight to filter through to nourish the plant beneath.
