I reworked this because I couldn't access the same hardware as was used in the original project. Instead, I got a bag of assorted springs from Princess Auto and rummaged through my spare bolt kit for M3x45 bolts. I also had extra M3 nuts from an old printer kit lying around. The spring measured about 6mm in diameter by 40mm when uncompressed. I modified the front piece that holds the sensor to accommodate the compressed spring, adding a slot that's 8mm wide by 10mm deep if needed. To secure the sensor mounting bolts, I replaced round recesses with 5.55mm hex holes and then installed a nut before placing the bolt through the front of the sensor. I swapped out stock M3x20mm bolts for longer ones measuring 25mm in length. To prevent the threaded portion from dragging on the other piece, I need to add some washers. I could have used M3x22mm bolts, which would have been perfect. On the back plate, I increased the depth of the recess for the mount holes by another millimeter and moved them down 5mm. Initially, I mounted the sensor with its plate rotated 180 degrees from the intended orientation to file a slot for the spring. With the sensor positioned as high as possible, I have about 2mm of adjustment left. The modifications I made will leave me with around 7mm of adjustment room at the end of the day, plus some extra space in case I need to swap the 30mm heat break with a 26mm one. Print Settings: Printer: HICTOP 3dp-17 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Infill: 30 Post-Printing: I cleaned up the prints for easy movement without leaving them too sloppy.
