SN04-N Mount For Chimera Hotends
thingiverse
There are plenty of fans out there for Chimera/Cyclops hotends that have been eagerly awaiting a solution, and none of them had placement for the SN04-N sensor that truly worked well with my setup, putting the sensor too far away from the hotend. I'm taking on the challenge to bring the sensor closer to the business end of things. This mounts directly onto 2 of the 3 M3 holes on the back of the heatsink and allows the sensor to extend past the heat block, giving me exactly what I need. To make this work, you'll require: * 2X M3 10mm screws to securely mount it to the heatsink * 2X M3 Hex nuts to firmly attach the sensor * 2X M3 20mm screws for additional support To get the best results in Repetier, make sure to adjust your settings as follows: * X offset: -9mm * Y offset: 24mm I opted to print it with PETG since the heatsink can reach a warm temperature, but I'm confident that it won't melt or deform. ABS would also likely work well. To ensure strength and minimize filament usage, I printed it with 2 shells and 100% infill. While I haven't tried it yet, in theory, it should perform flawlessly without any issues. For those who want to customize this solution for their own needs, I've included the Fusion360 file. Keep an eye out for updates as I try it out and see if it requires any adjustments. Update: I may have made a mistake about the offsets. Since heat creep is a concern, I added a layer of insulation under the mount on mine, which increased the Y-offset by a millimeter but should prevent heat deformation from occurring.
