SMuFF - BMG Endstop Cover

SMuFF - BMG Endstop Cover

cults3d

This is a cover for the genuine BMG Direct Drive Extruder used for the SMuFF in order to support the 2nd endstop switch, which is used to detect whether the filament has been loaded into the gears. While the BMG is unloaded, the lever for the 2nd gear will trigger the switch and as soon as filament is loaded, the lever is being pushed away which releases the endstop switch. Thus, the SMuFF can reliably tell whether or not the filament was fed to the DDE. Read all about its usage here Here's a short video showing you the cover in action. For assembling this cover to your BMG, you'll need 3 longer M3 bolts (45mm). Clip the cover into the existing screw holes and glue the micro switch in place as shown in the picture above. Since there's not much travel of the gear-lever when filament is loaded, you may have to adjust the model. Hence I've included the STEP file.
