SMT10 Wheelie bar

For those running enough power to wheelie an SMT10, check out these couple wheelie bar options. I'm running a 3600 KV brushless with an AX2 2-speed. Three S in high will wheelie or flip instantly. Two S will wheelie on grass but often just spins on asphalt or dirt. This would also be affected by tires - I'm still using the Axial BKTs. There are two sets of side arms. A short set that looks more like commercial ones I've seen, and a longer set that should work better as an actual wheelie bar. When testing with the short ones, the truck tends to bounce off the rear wheels and flip without the wheelie bar ever touching the ground. The photos are of the short version installed but the long one works better. It works best starting slower and then hitting it after the truck is moving. Give it too much punch and three S will still flip it. You need to print: * One of each side for the length you prefer * Two "brace-80.5" cross braces * One front bracket * One roller You will also need some M3 screws/bolts. * Eight 8mm (or longer) for attaching the sides to printed cross braces * Two 12mm for the two where the bolts go through the side brackets, the side of the SMT10 frame and into the existing SMT10 rear cross brace The file "long-assembly.stl" has all the parts laid out showing how they fit together. The front bracket has holes so it can be attached to the underside of the battery holder but I haven't found that necessary. Screwing the sides into it is enough. 2020-05-12 So far I've snapped short ones printed in Kodak PLA+ and long ones printed in PETG. My next attempt will be Nylon or ASA. I'm also considering making the brackets thicker and/or using an X style cross brace instead straight bars. Another interesting option is to print the roller in TPU. I will likely try that with some Cheetah I have and post an update. 2020-06-19 The long version printed in Bridge Nylon is working. I did not print solid to allow some flex: four perimeters, four layers top and bottom, 20% infill.
