SMT10 Wheel Repair Hub
thingiverse
The factory wheels on Axial SMT10 trucks often wear out the hubs. To fix this problem, I tried using an epoxy repair method but it didn't work very well so I came up with a bolt-in replacement hub. This hub is designed to fit a flat 7mm thick 12mm hex. The factory Axial hex, on the other hand, is only 4.5mm thick and has a round extension that sticks out of the wheel. It won't work with this adapter. To use this adapter, you'll need to follow these steps: 1. Cut out the stripped hex from your wheel using side cutters. Then, use a small Dremel grinding stone to clean it up. Leave the ribs in place because they will help center the adapter. 2. Once the hub is removed, put an adapter in the wheel and drill pilot holes through the rim using the bolt holes as a guide. 3. Take out the adapter and enlarge the holes in the rim with a larger bit. 4. When attaching the hub, you can use 6 or 3 bolts. I used 3 eight-millimeter M3 bolts and they are holding up fine.
