Smooth Ring Staights
thingiverse
I made this using Supinemonkey's mods, but I also modified the original rings to ensure they can be glued together seamlessly. Each piece is flat, eliminating the need for support. The flat design makes it incredibly smooth and quiet. The images included showcase the original straight pieces on the rings (jagged edges) alongside the smooth pieces for comparison. The rings feature markers that clearly indicate where to apply glue. I used 3D gloop to attach them quickly and securely. The straight pieces are universal, except for the middle piece, which is self-explanatory. To assemble this, you'll need to print 22 separate pieces. Interestingly, I discovered that increasing the infill or adjusting parameters results in a better outcome, as the added weight helps prevent the cam from getting stuck.
