Smooth Axis Test
thingiverse
This script assists in identifying axis problems without requiring numerous tilted 20mm cubes. It homes your machine, with home set as X-57 Y-57, centering X0 Y0 on the build platform. Following homing, it executes various moves at a fixed speed, including a large "plus" shape, an "X" formation in corners, and two rounds of a Carabiner V2 shape replicated from Skeinforge's "comb" setting (second copy rotated 90 degrees). This script revealed my high feed speed and tight Y belt issues. Afterward, it re-homes the machine for checking X and Y positions in the Control Panel. A circular moves implementation with G2 is suggested but faced challenges due to uncommanded linear moves. To use this script, save it as Smooth Axis Test.gcode under replicatorg-0023/scripts/calibration/. Upon executing the script, observe your machine's movements and verify that X and Y positions are both "-57" in Control Panel. Adjust the feed speed by modifying the marked line in the gcode as desired or copy "G1" lines to repeat moves for further analysis of tricky issues.
