Smoke & Sound for Cabbageheart Traction Engine
thingiverse
I constructed a remarkable Traction Engine (and its accompanying wagon) based on Cabbageheart's design. My engine, a "working model," exhibits some signs of wear and tear due to its operational nature. The engine was inspired by the Chieftain engine, which was itself based on 20legend's build, make:367492. I incorporated several custom elements into my engine, including a chimney number plate, tool box, and rope loop on the rear hooks. I also added decals to the smoke box and boiler for added realism. The wagon, meanwhile, was built without embellishments and weathered in a nod to Fred Dibnah's style. To enhance the overall experience, I integrated both smoke and sound effects into the traction engine. Further details can be found in the attached PDF file. The extra features I added did result in some tight quarters inside the engine, but there is still room to accommodate them all. Incidentally, the red LED on the ESC peeks through the top, creating the illusion that you're looking into the firebox. A short video showcasing the Engine and Wagon in action can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA0xR4_RwRE It's worth noting that my creation may not strictly qualify as a remix.
