SMD Turntable V1 (inkl. XL version)
thingiverse
If you're into SMD soldering, this thing will make your life a lot easier. The SMD turntable consists of a base and a donut with compartments for project-specific SMD components. Each compartment has its own label (for example, R1, R2, C1, U1). The donut comes with a cover that is replaceable, so you can easily swap between projects. It's also a great solution for archiving project-specific SMD parts. A 9mm and a 12mm donut are available, depending on the label height (for example, DymoLabel printer 12mm). Each compartment has a small gap to place the label in. It's recommended to use BluTack or silicon on the working surface to keep your SMD board in place. The XL files offer a working surface diameter of 148mm - the default one has 71mm (check your maximum print bed size! No problem if you have the Prusa i3 MK3). You need a standard ball bearing (22mm, 8mm, 7mm) - the ones from old inline skates will do. Assembly guide: For the base, you'll need file: 1_TurntableBase.stl For the default working surface: 2a_Workingsurface.stl 2b_WorkingsurfaceAxis.stl (Place the printed axis in the center whole of the working surface - all the way down. You can also use some glue to keep the axis in place.) For the XL working surface: 2a_WorkingsurfaceXL.stl 2b_WorkingsurfaceAxis.stl (same as above) For the default donut: 3a_Donut9mm.stl OR 3b_Donut12mm.stl 4_DonutCover.stl For the XL donut (XL working surface): 3a_Donut9mmXL.stl (no 12mm available for now) 4_DonutCoverXL.stl Tip: If there is a scratch noise while rotating, just put some extra space (for example, paper) under the ball gearing. Many thanks to @unexpectedmaker for the initial idea and @davedarko for brainstorming.
