If you are into smd soldering than this thing will make your live much easier.
The smd turntable consists of a base and a "donut" with compartments for your project-specific smd components.
Each compartment can have it's own label (for e.g. R1, R2, C1, U1,...).
The donut comes with a cover and is replaceable, so you can swap easily between your projects.
The donut is also a very good solution for archiving your project-specific smd parts.
There is a 9mm and a 12mm donut (height) available, depending on your label height (e.g. DymoLabel printer 12mm). Each compartment has a small gap to place the label in.
It's recommended to use BluTack on the working surface or just silicon (a self-cutted plate or liquid silicon) to keep your smd board on place.

The XL files offers you a working surface diameter of 148mm - the default one has 71mm (check your max print bed size! - no problem if you have the Prusa i3 MK3).

You need a standard ball bearing (22mm, 8mm, 7mm) - the ones from your old inline skates ;-)

Assembly guide:

For the base you need the file:
1_TurntableBase.stl

For the default working surface:
2a_Workingsurface.stl
2b_WorkingsurfaceAxis.stl
(Place the printed axis in the center whole of the working surface - all the way down. You can also use some glue to keep the axis in place.)

For the XL working surface:
2a_WorkingsurfaceXL.stl
2b_WorkingsurfaceAxis.stl (same as above)

For the default donut:
3a_Donut9mm.stl OR 3b_Donut12mm.stl
4_DonutCover.stl

For the XL donut (XL working surface):
3a_Donut9mmXL.stl (no 12mm available for now)
4_DonutCoverXL.stl

Tipp: If there is a scratch noise while rotating, just put some extra space (e.g. paper) under the ball gearing.

Many thanks to the @unexpectedmaker for the initial idea
and @davedarko for brainstorming.

Print instructions

Category: Electronics Summary

If you are into smd soldering than this thing will make your live much easier.
The smd turntable consists of a base and a "donut" with compartments for your project-specific smd components.
Each compartment can have it's own label (for e.g. R1, R2, C1, U1,...).
The donut comes with a cover and is replaceable, so you can swap easily between your projects.
The donut is also a very good solution for archiving your project-specific smd parts.
There is a 9mm and a 12mm donut (height) available, depending on your label height (e.g. DymoLabel printer 12mm).
